Description
ictron’s latest Orion redefines adaptive charging, designed for use with dual battery systems with an (intelligent) alternator. This unit will step down a 12V input to a 12V output with a maximum output of 50A (700W).
This device requires a common negative on the van/boat chassis. If this does not suit your requirements, have a look at our isolated DC-DC converters.

- Easily and precisely control the input and output current, helping you to protect your alternator and properly charge your service battery.
- Smart alternator compatibility
- The XS has built-in engine shutdown detection to ensure the charger only draws power when the engine is running.
- Adaptive charge algorithm
- Customisable charging algorithms and 8 battery preset modes. Ideal for ensuring optimal absorption times for shallow and deep discharges of your lead acid battery.
- Parallel to increase output current
- You can parallel an unlimited number of Orion XS devices, allowing you to easily scale the output current to your system’s requirements.
- Low temperature shutdown & under voltage protection
- Protect your lithium batteries through automatic turn-off at low temperatures and (user configurable) low input voltages.
- Runs at full capacity up to 40 degrees Celsius:
- Innovative aluminium circuit board cooling technology delivers an astonishing 98% efficiency without the need for fans.
- IP65 protection against dust and water
